What is PHP in Rehab?

A partial hospital program is a specific type of rehab program that allows a patient to get in-depth support to fight addiction without the need to stay at the rehab center as an inpatient or resident. Typically, a PHP will follow an inpatient program or residential treatment program, depending on the outcome of the first program, the patient’s overall health, and input and guidance from the addiction recovery specialists at New Spirit Recovery. Most people in a PHP will receive a full 8 hours of therapy, treatment, and structured care, including possible medical care like detoxification, each day but then go home for the evening and night. This balance of treatment modalities and life outside the rehab center is what gives it the name “partial hospitalization” program.

What Happens During a PHP?

During your PHP, different components of treatment could be selected based on what you need, such as:

• Therapy: The foundation of many partial hospitalization programs is therapy, often multiple forms of therapy. New Spirit Recovery offers several therapy forms and can integrate them into your PHP as needed.
